This bike is in excellent condition, The 2020 Yamaha YZ85 is a high-performance 85cc two-stroke motocross bike designed for serious junior racers making the step up in competition. Following a significant overhaul in 2019, the 2020 model carried forward its cutting-edge features and race-bred technology, solidifying its position as a top-tier machine for young riders.
Key Features & Technology
Potent YPVS Engine: At its core is an 85cc liquid-cooled, two-stroke engine equipped with the Yamaha Power Valve System (YPVS). This system is crucial, as it delivers a broader, more tractable powerband across the entire rev range, increasing driveability and reducing the need for constant, frantic shifting. The engine runs with a high compression ratio (8.2-9.6:1) and is fed by a 28mm Keihin® flat-slide carburetor.
Refined Transmission: Power is managed through a close-ratio 6-speed transmission designed for outstanding acceleration and race-winning output.
Advanced KYB Suspension: The YZ85 boasts a fully adjustable, race-proven suspension package from KYB.
Front: 36mm KYB inverted cartridge fork with 10.8 inches of travel, featuring compression and rebound damping adjustability.
Rear: Fully adjustable Kayaba® link-type shock with 11.1 inches of travel.
Ergonomics for Growth: The bike features adjustable rider ergonomics to accommodate growing racers. It includes a four-position adjustable handlebar mount on its tapered aluminum handlebar, a flatter seat, and a slim body design that allows for greater freedom of movement and improved control.
Lightweight Chassis: The semi-double cradle steel frame is mated to a lightweight, refined aluminum swingarm, which offers an optimal balance of rigidity for precise handling and stability.
High-Spec Brakes: Stopping power comes from large wave-style brake discs (220mm front, 190mm rear) designed for better self-cleaning, cooler running, and strong, precise control.
