The 2024 Honda CB650R E-Clutch is a significant update to Honda's Neo Sports Café middleweight naked bike, most notably by introducing the world's first production Honda E-Clutch technology.
This innovative system allows the rider to start, stop, and change gears (up and down) using only the foot shift pedal, without needing to operate the clutch lever. The electronic control unit manages the clutch engagement and disengagement automatically, making riding—especially in city traffic—easier and eliminating the possibility of stalling. Crucially, it retains the clutch lever, giving the rider the flexibility to operate the clutch manually at any time if preferred, or the system can be turned off entirely.
The motorcycle is powered by a smooth, high-revving 649cc inline-four DOHC engine. It also receives styling tweaks and functional upgrades for 2024, including a new 5-inch full-color TFT display with Honda RoadSync connectivity, and full LED lighting. The chassis features a quality Showa Separate Function Fork Big Piston (SFF-BP) inverted fork and comes equipped with Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) and ABS.
The CB650R E-Clutch is positioned to appeal to a wide range of riders, from novices seeking an easier introduction to manual gearboxes to experienced riders who appreciate the convenience and performance benefits of quick, seamless, clutchless shifting.
