This bike was the ultimate expression of Buell’s "Trilogy of Tech" philosophy, focused on Mass Centralization, Low Unsprung Weight, and Frame Rigidity.
The Powerhouse: At its heart roared a 1203cc air-cooled, V-Twin Thunderstorm engine (a heavily modified Harley-Davidson Sportster unit) delivering a gut-punching 103 horsepower and a wave of instant torque at low RPMs.
Engineering Genius: It’s famous for its radical innovations: the massive Zero Torsional Load (ZTL) perimeter front brake that shaved off weight, the fuel-in-frame design for mass centralization, and the oil-in-swingarm—all pushing the boundaries of sportbike design.
